Signs You Need Transmission Repair

Gears Shifting Irregularly — Car hesitates when put into gear, transmission slips gears during operation, gear shifts randomly, and you experience strong jerks when gear shifting.

Grinding or Shimmying Between Gears — Grinding noises while gear shifting (in a manual transmission) or a shaking/shimmying sensation when gear shifting (in automatic transmission.

Unusual Noises or Whines — Clunking, whining, and buzzing sounds; or sounds while in the neutral position.

Transmission Fluid Burnt or Cloudy – Transmission fluid should be bright red, not dark, cloudy red.

Burning Smells – After driving a while, check fluid for a burnt smell to it.

Leaking Transmission Fluid – Presence of red fluid (transmission fluid) underneath your car.
